The first Sichuan TV Festival was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from September 24 to 29, 1991. More than 3500 (including nearly 400 foreign guests) representatives from 32 countries and regions from five continents attended the festival. During the festival, such activities as International TV awards, International TV Program Trade Fair, International Radio and TV Equipment Exhibition, International TV Academic and Technical Exchanges, and so on were held.
The Second Sichuan TV Festival was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from September 22 to 27, 1993. 328 (148 overseas and 180 domestic) film and television organizations and manufacturers from 31 countries and regions in five continents and more than 2,400 (more than 400 foreign and 2,000 domestic) guests attended the festival. The main contents included International TV Awards, International TV Program Trade Fair, International TV Equipment Exhibition and International Audiovisual Exhibition, etc.
The 3rd Sichuan TV Festival was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from September 21 to 26, 1995, with more than 2800 guests from 30 countries and regions, including 585 foreign and 2300 domestic guests, participating in various activities of the festival. The festival mainly carried out activities such as International TV awards, International TV Program Trade Fair, International Radio and TV Equipment Exhibition and International Audiovisual Exhibition, and International TV Academic Symposium.
The 4th Sichuan TV Festival was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from October 28 to 31, 1997. 1152 organizations and over 3500 Chinese and foreign delegates from 20 countries and regions attended the Festival
The 5th Sichuan TV Festival was held at the Chengdu International Convention and Exhibition Center from October 28 to 31, 1999. More than 6,000 delegates from 1,376 Chinese and foreign film and television organizations from 22 countries and regions attended the event. The festival mainly included International TV Program Trade Fair, International Radio and TV Equipment Exhibition and International Audiovisual Exhibition, International TV Program Market Seminar, International Radio and TV Academic Seminar and other activities. During the four-day program trade, intentional contracts were reached for 3,152 episodes of various overseas TV programs imported, with a turnover of USD 8.65 million, and 1,595 episodes of various TV programs were exported to overseas with a turnover of USD 1.12 million. Sales among domestic film and television organizations were also very active, with sales reaching 5,621 episodes and a turnover of RMB 192 million.
